Friday Randoms - April 15, 2016

Happy Friday!  - First I want to thank everyone for their,
Concern and Get Well Wishes over the "eye issue" that I had earlier this week.  I'm happy to say that my vision is almost totally back to normal!

Now Let's join Nancy (A Rural Journal) and Tanya (Around Roanoke) and Cath (Cath @ Home) for some Friday Randoms.

1.  We had a hail storm yesterday! - The morning started out pretty decent but by afternoon it had clouded up.  As I was sitting at the computer I heard a noise outside and looked out the window to see that hail was coming down.  I grabbed up the camera and snapped a picture of the hail on the lawn.

2.  I'm participating in 52 Frames and last week the theme was the "Golden Hour" - This is the photo I submitted.  I just loved the lines, colors and textures in this shot of a farmers field.  This week we are doing "Food" as the theme.  I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do for the challenge but I have an idea.

3. Coleen and I went out for a walk last night (the rain had stopped) and we took my mom's dog Pixie with us.  Can you find her?  No....well you'll have to wait until further down to find her.  These people seriously need to mow!

4.  On the walk I was looking at different trees and happened to see this limb on one of the trees and thought that the peeling bard and bumps on the top of the branch were really interesting.  I hope you do as well.

5.  One more photo from our trip last week to McNary Dam.  These are scale models of Salmon.  They are huge when you see them up close.  We hope to go back in August when the Salmon should be returning up stream to spawn so we can actually see them in the viewing room.

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE:

1. Spotted this cute little scene on our walk last night.

2.  This was my (2nd choice) for the Golden Hour but I went with the one of the field.  I still like the sunset here and how it is bathing the valley in golden light.

3.  Where's Pixie?

Here she is!

4. We almost had another cat last night (We don't need anymore cats!!!)

This sweet little thing came out from some one's yard while we were on our walk and wouldn't stop following us.  I ended up taking it back to the yard that it came out of, I tried knocking on their door but no one was home.  The cat started to follow me again but finally gave up and moseyed back the other direction.  Whew!

5.  Redbud blooms.  The trees here in town are spectacular this spring.

FUN FRIDAY FAVORITES:

Since this post is already so long I'm not going to include 5 more photos but I will share just one more Dogwood Photo with you as I simply love how this one turned out.

I told you the trees here were spectacular and I wasn't kidding.

These are all great meme's.  I hope you'll check them out.  Have a great weekend.

Friday Randoms & Saturday Critters

Hello! - Yes, I'm a day late (and always a dollar short) for posting for both:

Still trying to catch up with Good Fences - If you need to see that post click on the link.

RANDOM 5 FRIDAY and WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.

This week was Spring Break here and I've had Coleen home all week so we've been busy doing different things and I just haven't had much time for being on the computer.  I hope you'll all forgive me for not getting around to your blogs on time.

Anyway I'm joining in now with my Randoms for this week.

 1.  We (Coleen, Me & my mom) took another drive the other night as I was needing to get a photo during the "golden hour" before sunset.  We drove up this steep dirt road where you could see down into the valley on one side and on the other was farm land.  We happened to spot some animals in a farmers wheat field.  They turned out to be more deer (yes I like to photograph deer).  There are 28 of them in this picture.  It's cropped so you can see them better.  They were quite a way off so it's the best I can do.

2.

The flowering trees are still in bloom around here.  This is the neighbors apple tree in the yard next to my mom's place.  I love the blooms but we hate when they fall off (looks like snow and is a mess to clean up) - Worse yet they nerve do anything with the apples and then they rot and fall off the tree into my mom's yard where wasp get in them and we end up having to clean them up.

3.

Yesterday we drove down to McNary Dam for something to do other than sit at home.  Since it was Coleen's Spring Break she was able to take her friend along to enjoy the day. - This is a picture of the Dam's spillway.

4.

The day before (Thursday) I took the girls out to Rooks Park so they could play and look around.  I happened to spot a Heron and decided to try and get pictures of it.  I managed to get 3 decent ones before it decided to fly off.

5.  I enjoy Rooks Park as there are lots of pretty things to look at like this fern that hadn't yet unfurled.

1.  I've been busy this week clearing the weeds out of my mom's flower beds (and mine as well) and planting flowers.  This is some of her tulips blooming.  I love the color and the way the sunlight seems to glow through them. - It's a lot of work keeping up with 2 different places but I'm managing a little at a time.

2.  Coleen and her friend, Emilie enjoying the walk through Rooks Park.

3.  We had hoped to see some Salmon at the Dam yesterday but it's the wrong time of the year for the Salmon run.  Instead we did see this Crawfish in a tank inside the Dam's Visitor Center.

4.  We still have lots of cats come to visit and eat the food we leave on my mom's front porch.  This is the neighbor across the street's cat, Tiger showing up to see what was in the food bowls the other night.

5.  I don't mind seeing snakes if they don't startle me and while we were at Rooks Park the girls spotted several snakes and I was lucky enough to get a picture of one before it slithered off into the rocks.

Linking up also to SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

Oops I forgot to link to FUN FRIDAY FAVORITES as well.

Might as well include a bonus photo for this meme.

One of the signs just as you get ready to enter the Dam that tells about some of the history of the area.

"Whatever" Wednesday - May 23, 2012

Oh my gosh this month has just seemed to "fly by" with super sonic speed.  May has so many things going on here (Mother's Day, Balloon Stampede, Ducky Derby, Hubby's Birthday) just to name a few. Top that off with having friends over for dinner last week and another friend visiting yesterday for a day of stamping and fun well let's just say I've been rather busy, but I've enjoyed every minute of it.

So for today I'm sharing several different photo's taken this month at various times.

Last weekend we drove down to McNary Dam to see if the fish were running upstream.  Sadly we only saw some Chad but no Salmon or Steelhead.  I did take some nice pictures though and am sharing a couple from that trip with you today.

On the way home I had my husband stop so I could snap a shot of a hillside where the Swallows nest.  I think it's fascinating seeing all the holes in the side of the hill where they make their nests.

Last week Coleen's Grandpa (My hubby, Mike) made her a very happy little girl.  He bought her a Motorcycle Helmet and took her for a ride on his Harley.  Then one day after school he picked her up on the Harley so the kids at school could see her riding on it.  She was so excited about getting the helmet and going for a ride with her Grandpa.  She gives the ride a "Two-Thumbs" up endorsement.

This past weekend was the annual Ducky Derby here in Walla Walla.  The proceeds of the event go towards helping to prevent Child Abuse.  I wasn't able to attend the event due to having company over for dinner that evening and having to prepare for the meal.  I did howeve snap a shot of the Giant Mascot on top the Bank to share with you.

Lastly I snapped a photo of our cat, Snickers inside a box the other night and just had to share.  She's a rather, shy and timid cat and doesn't come out into the living room very often if the other cats are out and about.  Doesn't she look sweet?

That's it for this weeks Whatever Wednesday edition.  I hope you've enjoyed your visit.
