Willy Nilly Friday Five - June 7, 2019

Hey I'm posting again!  Wow 2 weeks in a row.  -  It's been a fairly easy week without to much stress for which I'm very thankful.

So let's join Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for:
WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

I'm behind on sharing some of the photo's I've taken this year so I'll sharing a few of them today.

1.  One night while waiting for the "Blue Hour" to arrive I captured this wonderful rainbow shot.

followed by this sunset shot.

2.  While out for a walk around the block one day I spotted this little fellow in someone's yard and had to snap a photo.

3.  Spotted in a Parking Lot - Coleen snapped this for me.

4.  On a drive one day we followed this:

Hubby drove around the block so I could get a better shot.

5.  Missed sharing some photos of the Magnolia's in bloom.

6.  On a drive up Mill Creek with my mom one evening we spotted this:

7.  Who remembers this post from last year?   -  Guess what?  I won again this year.  This time it was 3rd Place which was a 50 pack of $5 tickets.  I didn't win big but I came away with $160.00 which wasn't bad.  I'll enter again next year.

8.  Finally it's that time of year.  Klicker Strawberries are here!!!   I'll be making Strawberry Shortcake today.

In honor of the season:

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

The Good, The Random, The Fun - July 23, 2018

Took a drive last week up a back country road to catch the sunset.  These shots are from that drive.  I had my mom along and we found a great spot to take photos.  There were quite a few other people there that had the same idea so it was fun visiting with them while waiting for the sun to set.

Sharing this with:  The Good, The Random & The Fun

Spotted this deer in a wheat field on the way up. (Random)

Shot of the valley and fields as the sun was just starting to set.  Used this photo for 52 Frames:  Golden Hour shot.

Another view of a farm/vineyard.

The sun just before it set completely. (Good)

The night sky with the faintest hint of a moon. - Note I took this while waiting for my hubby to rescue me.  - See I ended up with a dead car battery and no jumper cables.  None of the people that were there to watch the sunset had any either.  Thank goodness I had cell reception and was able to get ahold of him and he came to my rescue.  - Always an adventure when I go out to take photos! - (Fun?)

Have a great day & a great start to your week.

Willy Nilly & Feline Friday - February 9, 2018

Welcome.

Joining in today for

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

It's all about "colors" this week. - Since February is generally a gloomy month (it's been rainy & overcast here most of the month) I thought I would add some photos of color that I spotted while out and about this week.

1.

Spring Crocus blooming in someone's yard.  Don't they look cheery!

2.

Colorful Grafitti on a bridge.

3.  The colors of an evening sunset this week looking down our street.

4.  Some tree bark that I found colorful and fascinating.

5.

Sleeping cats on a Christmas blanket (I need to put that away). - This is also for FELINE FRIDAY
Leaving you with a couple of songs with a color in the song.  Today's colors were:  Green & Red.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday Randoms - April 15, 2016

Happy Friday!  - First I want to thank everyone for their,
Concern and Get Well Wishes over the "eye issue" that I had earlier this week.  I'm happy to say that my vision is almost totally back to normal!

Now Let's join Nancy (A Rural Journal) and Tanya (Around Roanoke) and Cath (Cath @ Home) for some Friday Randoms.

1.  We had a hail storm yesterday! - The morning started out pretty decent but by afternoon it had clouded up.  As I was sitting at the computer I heard a noise outside and looked out the window to see that hail was coming down.  I grabbed up the camera and snapped a picture of the hail on the lawn.

2.  I'm participating in 52 Frames and last week the theme was the "Golden Hour" - This is the photo I submitted.  I just loved the lines, colors and textures in this shot of a farmers field.  This week we are doing "Food" as the theme.  I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do for the challenge but I have an idea.

3. Coleen and I went out for a walk last night (the rain had stopped) and we took my mom's dog Pixie with us.  Can you find her?  No....well you'll have to wait until further down to find her.  These people seriously need to mow!

4.  On the walk I was looking at different trees and happened to see this limb on one of the trees and thought that the peeling bard and bumps on the top of the branch were really interesting.  I hope you do as well.

5.  One more photo from our trip last week to McNary Dam.  These are scale models of Salmon.  They are huge when you see them up close.  We hope to go back in August when the Salmon should be returning up stream to spawn so we can actually see them in the viewing room.

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE:

1. Spotted this cute little scene on our walk last night.

2.  This was my (2nd choice) for the Golden Hour but I went with the one of the field.  I still like the sunset here and how it is bathing the valley in golden light.

3.  Where's Pixie?

Here she is!

4. We almost had another cat last night (We don't need anymore cats!!!)

This sweet little thing came out from some one's yard while we were on our walk and wouldn't stop following us.  I ended up taking it back to the yard that it came out of, I tried knocking on their door but no one was home.  The cat started to follow me again but finally gave up and moseyed back the other direction.  Whew!

5.  Redbud blooms.  The trees here in town are spectacular this spring.

FUN FRIDAY FAVORITES:

Since this post is already so long I'm not going to include 5 more photos but I will share just one more Dogwood Photo with you as I simply love how this one turned out.

I told you the trees here were spectacular and I wasn't kidding.

These are all great meme's.  I hope you'll check them out.  Have a great weekend.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - November 30, 2014

Welcome!

Well the Thanksgiving weekend is about to come to a close and can you believe that Christmas is just 25 short days away.  -  It was a busy weekend here as we celebrated Thanksgiving on Thursday and then Friday and Saturday we spent the time putting up the outside lights and decorating the inside of the house.  We haven't put up the tree yet but that will be next on the agenda.

So let's join up with Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) now for
SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY.  This week the prompts were easy as we could just post our 5 Favorite Photos from the week.

FAVORITE #1

I snapped a shot of this little squirrel on it's way to the feeder this morning.  It snowed here yesterday (oh goodie) and you can see the slight dusting of snow on it's face.  I love that I also captured the swirl motion of it's tail.

FAVORITE #2

I captured this shot of our cat, Harley sleeping in my chair one day.  I just thought the position of his paws was so funny that I had to get a picture of him.  He almost always has that one claw hooked either in the blanket, the rug or in this case his foot when he sleeps.

FAVORITE #3

I went out the other morning just to take some pictures and saw this bit of moss growing on the stones that border my rose bed.  I loved how the sun was shining on the moss so I snapped a photo of it.  It's nice to see some pretty green color now since winter has arrived and most of the color is gone.

FAVORITE#4

We had a lovely sunset this week where the sky was yellow, pink and purple.  So pretty.  I love the way the barren trees look with these pretty colors.  This is the view down our back driveway and I photograph these trees a lot.

FAVORITE #5

Yep more trees.  These are also part of the trees we see from our back driveway.  Since it snowed yesterday I thought it would be fun to show the snow on the fir tree and how pretty and blue the sky is today.  The temperature though is only 8 degrees....It's just dang COLD outside today. I might add that Friday it was 65 degrees here.  WEIRD weather!

So that's it for me this week.

If you would like to participate in next weeks Scavenger Hunt here are the prompts:

  • 1. Joy
  • 2. White
  • 3. Stripes
  • 4. Tree
  • 5. Shape
  • Have a great day & don't forget to check out the other particpants.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday and Song-ography, June 8, 2014

I will be joining in today on SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY hosted by Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) and also SONG-OGRAPHY hosted by Kathy (You'll Shoot Your Eye Out.)

First up for the hunt:  The prompts:  Denim, Light, Watch, Perspective, Fuel.

I'm going a little out of order here because I want to use one of the prompts as part of Song-ography as well.

LIGHT:  This was the sunset here on Monday the 2nd after Coleen's Piano Recital.

I love everything about this photo.  The light was just amazing.

    WATCH:

Hubby was husking corn and it caught their attention.  (Snickers in the back, Spooky-boo on the Left and Harley on the Right.)

I also have another one for this as we went to a street concert tonight and these dogs were there with their owners (watching) the concert.  I'm not sure this fellow was enjoying the music though.

    PERSPECTIVE:

From Eric the cat's perspective here I'd say the world was upside down!

    FUEL:

Part of one of the exhibits at Ft. Walla Walla.

DENIM:  (This is also part of Songography) where the Song was, Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band.

~A Pair of Jeans that fit just right.

(You can see mine are well loved.  The darker ones are brand new jeans that hubby just bought.)

"It's funny how it's the little things in life
    that mean the most
Not where you live or what you drive
or the price tag on your clothes
There's no dollar sign on peace of mind
    this I've come to know."

This is the side of a semi-truck I spotted in the parking lot at the grocery store one day.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
