Willy Nilly Friday Five - September 25, 2020

 Hello & Welcome.

Joining Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE today.

1. While on our walk a few weeks ago this little quail appeared for a brief moment. I managed a couple of quick shots before it scurried off into the blackberry bushes.

2.Our daughter Greta celebrated a birthday this month.  She's pointing to the candles on the cake because the flames would match the color of the candles.

3.Spotted this Praying Mantis looking in our kitchen window (yes I know they need washed) so I went out and took it's picture.

A few days laughter Coleen and her friend found a green one and wanted me to look at it so I took it's picture too.

4.  Our cat, Harley is NOT a lap cat and we are always trying to coax him onto our laps.  Coleen has had the best success.  He actually got up on her lap the other night and let her comb him. (He loves being brushed and combed.)
5.  Finally after all that horrible smoke and haze from the fires it rained.

Bonus shot:  It's time for another baby fix - Little Joelle is growing and we think she is cute as can be.

Fences around the World and some Black & White shots

Joining Gosia (Looking For Identity) for FENCES AROUND THE WORLD

It's almost Halloween and around here a lot of people love to decorate their yards for the holiday.

Spotted this fence on the way to the Bowling Alley this week.

The fence was handmade and looks super realistic.  Almost like rusty metal.
The grasses in the background and the tombstone in the yard add to the spooky fun.

Loving the skulls on the fence posts.

Also this week I've been doing a challenge on Facebook where you post 1 Black and White Photo of your daily life.  No Humans, No Explanations.  This was yesterday's photo.

This is today's photo:

Have a great day.

Monday Musings

It's Monday and the start of a new week.
Just wanted to update everyone who's been praying for us during our Wild Fire in the mountains recently.  As of last night the fire had been updated to 50% contained.  No further buildings have been destroyed and no lives have been lost.  Best news of all.....

It's RAINING!

We had a sudden and brief rainshower here on Friday night but it didn't reach the fire area.

This morning it's rained quite a bit although it's starting to clear off already.  I'm hoping though that the rain reached the fire area to help put that fire completely out.

In the meantime here are some cute cats to share for Mancat Monday.

Captain Cuddles (sleeping)  He wouldn't look up no matter what I tried.  Also the newest member of our "mancat" family,  Bandit.

This is our oldest "mancat" - Harley

This is the 2nd to youngest of our male cats,  Spooky-boo.

I'll share photos of the girls another day.

Have a great day!

Photo Art Friday - Part 2

PAF-Part 1 can be found HERE:

As I was editing and posting my photos last night for Photo Art Friday we had a huge Thunderstorm pass through complete with Thunder, Lightning, High Winds and Rain!  Crazy gal that I am I decided to take some pictures of the storm.

So with my second post today I am sharing a few of the storm photo's because they of course have "Water" in them.

Clouds rolling in getting ready for the down-pour.  All those specks you see in the photo are leaves, twigs etc...from the high wind that came in with the storm.

This next shot doesn't really have water in it and is rather "blurry" but it's a shot of the tree out back that I park under.  Needless to say I moved the van until after the storm subsided as branches were dropping out of this tree and I didn't want a broken windshield.

The rain has started and Coleen wants to dance in the rain.

It came down pretty heavy for about 15-20 minutes.

After it subside a little I caught some water ripples on the drive-way and played around with the photo on Pic Monkey adding a cloud texture and some color effects.

I also caught this shot of Coleen holding her hand underneath the drain spout on my mom's front porch.  I added Bonnie's texture: Silent Memory to the shot, erased the texture off her hand and then used the Tranquil effect from Pic Monkey and a quote.  (Original will follow).

Finally a shot of some of the storm damage just up the street from us.  There were lots of sirens going off during this storm and tons of debris lying around afterwards.
