Fences around the World and some Black & White shots

Joining Gosia (Looking For Identity) for FENCES AROUND THE WORLD

It's almost Halloween and around here a lot of people love to decorate their yards for the holiday.

Spotted this fence on the way to the Bowling Alley this week.

The fence was handmade and looks super realistic.  Almost like rusty metal.
The grasses in the background and the tombstone in the yard add to the spooky fun.

Loving the skulls on the fence posts.

Also this week I've been doing a challenge on Facebook where you post 1 Black and White Photo of your daily life.  No Humans, No Explanations.  This was yesterday's photo.

This is today's photo:

Have a great day.

Friday Fun

Welcome! - Posting today for several Memes. - Click to Enlarge Photos.

 GOOD FENCES AROUND THE WORLD:

A plain board fence that caught my eye.

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE:

1.  Did some baking again recently.  This time it was Blackberry Pie Bars.
Oh so yummy!  Recipe found here on The Novice Chef.

2.  Spotted this on a recent walk

Are you in the mood for fall & Halloween Decor yet? - I'm getting there.

3.  Spotted this while out on a drive:

That's one "wild paint job!"

4.  Spotted this on another drive around town:

How cool is that! - Took a close-up and used for my 52 Frames photo for the week Unexplored.  You can see the album here:  This was the photo I used for that week:

Edited to include this shot for Orange You Glad It's Friday.

5.  I love coffee mugs of all kinds.  - I spotted an owl mug recently and had to buy it.  Then I realized that they had several different mugs so I went back and bought one for my hubby, one for my daughter, Greta & one for my granddaughter, Coleen.  They are pictured below.  See if you can figure out which one is my mug.  Make a guess....

Now if you want to know...From Left to Right - My Mug is the one on the left, then Greta's is next, Coleen's is the Red Mug and Mike's is the one on the far right.  - They make me smile!

Finally For FELINE FRIDAY - Hosted for awhile on Comedy Plus.

It's Callie-Jo taking a rest on my purse.  - By the way Callie-Jo has recovered completly from whatever ailment she had a few weeks ago.  That makes us all very happy!

Fences Around the World - Morning Glory Edition

Joining Gosia (Looking for Identity) for FENCES AROUND THE WORLD

Two different fences here today featuring Morning Glory growing on them.

First up the fences that borders the property between where my daughter lives and the house next door.

She planted some moss roses and daisies but apparently somewhere a Morning Glory seed snuck in because that's what sprouted and grew.

It's growing out of an old barrel turned on it's side.

Next from down the alley by the school.

I love the tendrils reaching up to the sky.

I think they are both so pretty & really dress up the fences.

Fences Around the World & Thankful Thursday

Welcome - Hope your summer has gone well.  It's hard to believe it's winding down already.  School started this week and soon Fall will be arriving.

Today I'm joining Gosia (Looking for Identity) for FENCES AROUND THE WORLD.

About two weeks ago I was walking down the alley near the grade school and happened to notice something that hadn't been there before.

Someone had decided to add something to there fence:

This window was put into the fence and I thought that was a fun touch to a plain board fence.

Another shot from the opposite angle.

A view down the length of the alley.  Notice those sunflowers hanging over the top of the fence.

Don't they look cheerful.

So what was the view from the window....

A nice little place to sit & relax.

I hope you've enjoyed this charming little edition to the fence.

Now for an Update on Callie-Jo - Joining Michelle for THANKFUL THURSDAY.

It's been 10 days now since we took Callie-Jo to the Vet.  After bringing her home I spent 6 days feeding her through a Syringe so she would have food in her stomach and not develp liver problems.  She refused to eat or even drink water on her own during that period. -  Little by little she started showing signs of being interested in eating again and today I am happy to report that she is eating & drinking normally and is back to being the sweet loving cat that she was prior to whatever illness she had.

Thank you all for your prayers for her.  I know they helped.

Fences Around The World and Little Things Thursday

Summer seems to be flying by. I'll miss some parts of summer but the heat not so much.  I just can't handle it much anymore so I stay inside alot.

I did manage to photograph a fence on my way to run some errands one day.  It's just a chain link fence (pretty boring) until you see what's on the fence.

It looks like a "hodgepodge" of drift wood from this view.

But when you look at the front panel of the fence you will see this.........

                                    A SMILE GOES ALONG WAY

Have a great day & enjoy the "little" things in life that make you happy.

Good Fences, Little Things to be Thankful For

Joining Gosia today for Fences Around The World

Nothing fancy hear today - Just a simple wood fence, some bamboo & bamboo plants.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also joining Tamar for LITTLE THINGS THURSDAY

It's the "little things" like Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch (with a nice scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream) that make me happy.
Recipe found HERE - It's so delicious.

and Michelle for:  THANKFUL THURSDAY

Thankful for the joy & fun that all our animals bring.

Sharing a shot of Cricket (our Pug) and Caramel watching her.

We don't normally allow Cricket in with the cats as she tends to chase them but we are starting to get them use to her being in the room with them as it's not fair to the dog to never be allowed in the living room with everyone else.  As you can see Caramel is a bit leery of Cricket but she didn't run and hide and Cricket didn't chase any of the cats so I think the new socialization is going to work.

Little Things to be Thankful For

Welcome!  Hope everyone has been having a nice week. - It's been busy here but pleasant.

So today I'm joining Tamar (Random-osity), Michelle (It's a Small Town Life) and Gosia (Looking for Identity) for:

FENCES AROUND THE WORLD

LITTLE THINGS THURSDAY

THANKFUL THURSDAY

First up my Fence shots... (Click to enlarge photos)

What's that behind the bars of this fence?  Why it's a......Dinosaur!

Here is a better view.  You'll notice he's decked out with Christmas lights.  These shots were taken in April of 2015 and they apparently hadn't taken off the lights yet.

Just in case you are wondering there is a "fence" in the background of this shot.

Next up for Little Things Thursday & Thankful Thursday....

It's time for.....Strawberries!!!

Yes that's me (goofy face & all) enjoying the first strawberries from Klicker's this year.

Don't they look lucious?

What's a girl to to but make Strawberry Shortcake.

I'm thankful we have local, fresh berries to enjoy every summer because they sure beat the ones you buy in the store!

Have a great day.

Fences Around the World - Colorful Sidekick

Well once again I have been absent for a couple of weeks.  Life here is just so busy.  Trying to keep up with 2 yards & 2 houses (taking care of my mom) is a never ending job.  - I hate being away from the blog for long periods but it just can't be helped sometimes.

Anyway let's join Gosia (Looking for Identity) for FENCES AROUND THE WORLD

Just 1 (can you believe that?) photo today. - Click to enlarge.

Spotted on a country road while on a drive. - The fence is there but I think you can see what caught my eye.  What a bright spot of color it made.

Have a great day.

Friday Fun

I'm a little behind with my blogging of late so I'm combining several Memes today.

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

FENCES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

FELINE FRIDAY

1. I often photograph cats while walking or driving around town so today I thought I'd share this lovely Dog that was watching us from behind his owners fence.
(Sharing for Fences From Around the World)

2.

See that bruise on my arm...I had a little accident on Monday.  It actually doesn't look that bad here but it got worse and I had bruises on my breasts and my knee too from my little mishap.  So what caused my accident?

3.  They should come with "Warning Labels"

I was pulling weeds and trimming back my rose bushes and decided to move the garbage can closer to where I was working.  The lid was open and I grabbed the handles to push the can ahead and the next thing I knew I was laying face down inside the can (Stop Laughing)...Apparently the lid caught on the grass and shoved the can out from underneath me and I went down with a bang.  - Thankfully no teeth got knocked out but I was pretty bruised up.

4.  Time has gone by so quickly this year and I forgot to even post that I celebrated my 25th Wedding Anniversary last month (April 18th).  We went out for a nice dinner that evening and on the weekend our daughter and granddaughter suprised us with a nice little party.  (No pictures) - So instead I'll share one of the songs that was sung at our wedding.

5.  I've been busy this week outside weeding, planting, watering...flower beds at both my house and my mom's place next door.  Lots of hard work for sure.

This is my mom's side of our driveway.  I also planted flowers on the other side next to our house as well.

Now for Feline Friday:

Good Fences Around the World #7 - Pops of Red

Joining Gosia (Looking for Identity) today for Good Fences Around the World

It's a nice 50+ day here (although overcast and drizzling rain) but hey the snow is gone so I'm a happy camper.

Sharing a few fences I've found here in town today with a "pop" of Red to them.  I think it really makes them stand out.

First up a nice black wrought iron fence with red brick pillars.

Next we have a Red Fence (slightly worn) with some brambles growing ove it.  - I liked the scalloped shape of the top of this fence.  Of course if you look closely you'll see that the scalloped part is actually another fence right behind the red fencing.

Finally while not technically a "fence" this red stair railing is quite nice.

There you have it, a trio of "red" to brighten your day.

Have a great day & don't forget to check out the other participants Good Fences from around the world.
