Scavenger Hunt Sunday - October 5, 2014

Welcome! -  Won't you join me now as we head out with Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for,
SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY.

This weeks prompts were:  Autumn, Leaves, Boots,
Hot Beverage, Game.

AUTUMN:  This is my favorite season of the year and I just love it when I find scenes like this one.

This is the spillway on Millcreek at Rooks Park.  The same place I photographed the Great Egret last week.

LEAVES:  Of course I could have gone with some fall colors for leaves but instead I found these while out on a little photo shoot around town.

Varigated leaves are some of my favorites and I like the stone pillar with the lichen that they are resting up against.

BOOTS:  You've got to love an Ox wearing boots.

This bronze statue sits in Pioneer Park. - I convereted this shot to black and white and really like how it turned out.

HOT BEVERAGE:  I so wanted something really cool for this shot but just could not get a photo I really liked and was running out of time so you have to settle for this:

Hot Apple Cider.  I wanted to include a Cinnamon stick but at $7.00 for a small bottle with about 3-4 cinnamon sticks inside I decided the cider would just go without it.

GAME:  Coleen and her new dad, Kelly like to play different games.  Here they are enjoying a game of Battleship together.

We have awful lighting in our living room so you this isn't exactly the best shot but it fits the prompt.

It was a hard week for me with a couple of the prompts.  Maybe next week will be better.

Next weeks prompts for those who want to play along are:
  • 1. Details
  • 2. Friend
  • 3. Comfort
  • 4. Above
  • 5. New

  • So that's it for this hunt.  I hope you've enjoyed your stay.  Be sure to stop by Ashley's blog and check out the other participants.  Have a great day.

    10. Lovely autumn colors in that first shot. The ox boots made me laugh. At first glance I thought it was a childs toy and b& w was a good choice. Colleen has an interesting expression on her face...
My boots shot was like your cider shot...was running out of time and did not have time to take a better one.

    12. Ida, I love the textures in the variegated plant with the rock. Lovely. And I count six cats on your side bar. Do you currently have them all, and a dog? I'm a cat person. We have two.

    17. These are great finds! The fall colors are gorgeous in the first photo. The leaves haven't changed nearly that much here in Virginia. I love the oxen with the boots. :-) And I'm glad your granddaughter likes playing games. They are fun and good for our minds.

    23. Seeing that autumn photo makes me want to get right out and see if the high winds the past few days have left any leaves on the trees. Love the intense concentration on the battleship game.

    31. Lovely photos, Ida. My Emi loves playing battleships as well. I love the idea of hot cider. It sounds brilliant on a cold autumn day. I'll definitely have to try some. I buy my spices in the Asian shops in West Ealing. We have a large immigrant community there who have the best shops and everything is really well priced. Maybe you have a similar community in your area. Their produce shops are better-priced than our supermarkets. All the best, Bonny
