Willy Nilly Friday Five

Well if you follow my blog you've probably noticed I've been absent again for a couple of weeks. Seems that is a pattern for me anymore.  I'm still alive and doing okay, just busy.

So today I'm joining Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for:
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.

1.  A Frosty Rose - I finally managed to get the rose bushes cut back in the last couple of weeks.  Captured this one before I cut the bushes back.

A Watery Leaf Print on the Windshield

2.  Seasonal Decore

Spotted this in someone's yard and had to take a picture because Thanksgiving usually doesn't get much attention.

My mom's new Nativity and Angel

3.  A colorful Truck I spotted while out one day.

4.  Flying South for the Winter - Geese at Bennington Lake with the Blue Mtns. in the background.  Yes we have (snow) in the mountains already.

5.  It's "Sumo Kitty" (aka - Speedy G)

Hope you've enjoyed your visit.  - Have a great weekend.

Good Fences #113 - A Romantic Fence

Welcome! - It's been a busy morning (I just spent 2 1/2 hours outside planting flowers and weeding flower beds) so I'm a bit late for the party but here goes:

Let's look at some GOOD FENCES  hosted by Theresa,
(The Run-a-round Ranch Report).

Be sure to Click to Enlarge Photos

One day while out driving I stopped to take a picture of this fence.  It didn't look like that fancy of a fence but it was still nice and then this lovely American Eskimo ran out to greet me.  Her name is Keisha.  I use to have an American Eskimo (Rebel) so I was happy to see this sweet one.  There was another one on the back steps but it wouldn't come out to greet me.  The lady that lived there said the one on the steps was a rescue from a "puppy mill" and that Keisha was his protector.

As I turned the corner I noticed the fancy little gate they had in the front of their place so I took a picture of it.

Both these photos were shot back in February of this year.  A couple of days ago I was driving by the place again when I noticed something and I just had to go home and get my camera and go back to photograph it.

There were roses blooming in the yard.  This is part of the side fence.

There was an arbor with roses growing over it in the front by the fancy gate.

Isn't that pretty! - Notice behind the arbor there seem to be more roses blooming.

Wait for it......................

Isn't that just amazing and so beautiful and romantic looking!

I drove back around the block and stopped once more because I spotted the shy little American Eskimo sitting on the back steps.  I didn't get out because I didn't want to scare him and he didn't get up so this is the best shot I could get of him.

It pays to go back sometimes and revisit a fence because if I hadn't I would never have been able to share those gorgeous roses with you all.

Don't forget to stop in and check out the other Good Fences.  Have a great day.

Songography - Blessed Edition and Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

    Welcome!

Please join me for SONGOGRAPHY and SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY

This week Kathy (You'll Shoot Your Eye Out) offered us the song,  Blessed by Martina McBride.
Again a country song that I wasn't familiar with but this one I actually liked when I listed to it.

I am truly "Blessed" to have a wonderful family, a nice home to live in, food to eat, clothes to wear and time to enjoy the beauty around me.  Today I took a little drive and was able to capture some wonderful pictures.  Then on my way to the store tonight I saw that the sun was just starting to set and I knew that it was going to be a gorgeous sunset.  So I made a bit of a "detour" from the store and headed out on a country road so I could capture this:

Yes it is a beautiful world and I am truly blessed.

Please join me now as we head over to Ashley's blog  (Ramblings and Photos) for Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  The prompts this week were:
Horizon, Sharp, Leather, Blue and Diagonal Lines.

HORIZON:  One of the many shots I took on my little drive today.

There was a bit of haze over the mountains which is pretty typical for this time of year but I think they are still lovely.

SHARP:  Coleen and I stopped yesterday on our way for Yogurt so I could get some pictures and I knew exactly what I was looking for as I'd taken similar pictures of this very same thing last year but never posted them.  I decided to see if they were still there and sure enough they were:  Well new one's that is.

I'm thinking the thorns on these bushes must be sharp.

LEATHER:  Got my little model and did a small photo session of her Leather Jacket that her Grandpa bought her for Christmas last year.

BLUE:  Frost crystals on the Van's tinted window - Aren't they pretty.

DIAGONAL LINES:  This one was a bit tough but I think this counts...

    Callie-Jo has diagonal whiskers.

Flower Art and Photo Art Friday - A Birthday Rose

    photosbyleanne

Today is LeAnne's (Photo's by LeAnne) and it's also Flower Art Friday on her blog.  This being her birthday she requested that people post Roses if they wanted to in honor of her birthday and the fact that the Rose is the official flower for the month of June.  -  HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEANNE!

It's also Photo Art Friday on Bonnie's blog,  - Pixel Dust Photo Art where we could feature any piece of Photo Art or one with a, "Vintage" feel to it.  Bonnie even provided some great FREE textures for the challenge if we so desired to use them (and I did).  I chose to use her new texture,
    Vintage Craquelure.

    Here is the original photo:

This is one of my favorite roses,  It's a J&P (Jackson-Perkins) rose called, Pristine.  It is no longer available and only a portion of my original bush survived the harsh winter of 2008 but thankful it's enough to still produce gorgeous blooms like this one.

    Here is my edited version:

Several different photo editing programs were used to get the finished result.
First I uploaded the original photo on Pic Monkey and uploaded Bonnie's texture:
Vintage Craquelure in Hardlight at 100% - I erased all the texture off the rose bloom.  Then I went to the special effects section and used the Sepia effect, fading to 60% to add color back to the rose and background giving it a more vintage feel.  I also added the frame using on of the new "Sketchedy" frames available.  I then saved the photo and reopened it on, Pixlr-o-matic and added their texture (Old) to further age the photo.  Then I uploaded that photo on Foto-flexer to add the sentiment.  They have a large selection of fonts there so I like to use them to add my sentiments.

I hope you like the end result as much as I do.

Please be sure to stop by both LeAnne and Bonnie's blogs to check out all the great Flower Art and Photo Art. - Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

    Scavenger Hunt Sunday - June 3, 2012

Hi everyone.  It's time for the "Hunt" - aka Scavenger Hunt Sunday over on Ashley's blog (Ramblings and Photos).

This week the prompts were:  Shine, Fast, Left, Peace and Plain.

So won't you join me as I share my Scavenger Hunt photo's and then pop on over to Ashley's blog and check out the other enteries.

    SHINE:

The finish on hubby's Fender Jaguar really does "Shine!"

    FAST:

Bee's certainly do fly "fast" and you have to be "fast" at snapping a picture too if you want to capture one in flight.

    LEFT:

Now you may be wondering just what this has to do with the prompt (Left) but here's the scoop if something looks this good, it's bound to taste good and soon there is nothing....

Left but the crumbs! - Oh I confess after I took this shot even the crumbs weren't left!
PEACE:  I have 2 shots for this because I couldn't make up my mind which one I wanted to use the most.

    My "Peace" Rose or...

Coleen who just happens to own the Perfect Shirt for this prompt!

    PLAIN:

Peanuts may be "plain" in appearance but the things you can do with them are amazing!
